Innovative Instruction


At Sugar Land Dance Center, we are constantly looking for new ways to enrich our students’ lives and make learning easy and fun through dance. With frequent staff development workshops and weekly staff meetings, our teachers are up-to-date with the latest insights into child development and learning. 


Our classes not only incorporate the art of dance, but also math concepts, physics, SAT vocabulary words, French, anatomy, kinesiology, and music theory. Older students benefit by learning time management skills, perseverance, goal-setting, leadership, and team-building as well. These are traits that will carry over from the dance floor to the schoolroom to the board room.

We’ve worked with thousands of young people on dance skills and one of the most important things we teach is cultivating a growth mindset. Having a growth mindset helps students understand the process of mastering a skill and how learning to dance (or anything highly skilled) is a slow, cumulative process. 


So stay tuned, we’re teaching the next generation of scientists, computer whizzes, novelists, and much more. They’ll have their ballet classes to thank for their perseverance and self-discipline.
