About the School

Since 1982,
Sugar Land Dance Center has taken thousands of students from their first tentative steps to taking the dance floor with confidence. With classes for children and adults in ballet, ballroom, tap, jazz, hip hop and modern, there is something for the entire family to enjoy.

We aim to provide our students with the highest quality dance education possible so that all of them, whether they study with us for one year or twenty, will gain a love and appreciation for the art of dance, as well as a sense of self-worth and achievement. While we know that most of our students will not become nor want to be professional dancers, we believe that they should learn the art form properly, taught by the best teachers available, and have fun doing it!

The diversified staff at Sugar Land Dance Center is made up of highly qualified instructors teaching a variety of dance styles, led by Director Mary Ann Gevrasev. All instructors have worked together within their areas of expertise to create a graded curriculum and syllabus specific to Sugar Land Dance Center. Dance students can be assured that all instructors at SLDC are working within these guidelines and that with regular attendance, students will progress quickly, correctly, and safely.

We offer over 60 classes per week throughout the school year in: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pre-school Ballet and Tap, Contemporary, Pointe, Creative Movement, Creative Dance and Pre-professional ensembles.
